The measuring element of a resistance temperature sensor is a thin-film platinum resistor. The sensor’s output is an electrical resistance whose dependence on temperature is defined by the ČSN EN 60751 standard. In general, the measured resistance increases as the temperature rises. As standard, we offer temperature sensors in the Pt100, Pt500 and Pt1000 variants, in two-wire, three-wire and four-wire connections.

The design of the sensor sheath plays a key role, as it determines the sensor’s resistance to temperature, mechanical stress and chemical effects of the surrounding environment. From this point of view, sensors can be divided into the following groups:
1) sensors with a metal thermowell (so-called rod-type)
2) sheathed sensors
3) cable sensors
