Thermocouple temperature sensor with a single ceramic protective tube.
- Pythagoras (C610) ceramic, diameter 15 mm
- base metal thermocouple, type J, K or N
Thermocouple temperature sensor with a single ceramic protective tube.
The MTC5 series is the basic line of temperature sensors with a single ceramic protective tube. It has a protective tube made of Pythagoras ceramic and is suitable for applications with operating temperatures up to 1090 °C. It withstands thermal shocks well, however its chemical resistance is only average. The tube is not gas-tight, which may negatively affect the long-term lifetime of the installed thermocouple.
The measuring element is a base metal thermocouple of type J, K or N. The thermocouple’s output signal is a voltage whose dependence on temperature is defined by the ČSN EN 60584-1 ed. 2 standard.
The sensor consists of a head, a holding pipe, a protective ceramic tube and capillaries, in which one or two thermocouples are installed. The head is fitted with a cable gland for connecting a compensation cable.
The sensor can be fitted with a temperature converter. A PR mounting flange can be used to secure the sensor at the point of measurement.
