Fittings for thermocouple temperature sensors with a sapphire protective tube.
- protective tube made of single-crystal sapphire, diameter 8 mm
- for a precious metal thermocouple (most commonly S, R or B)
Fittings for thermocouple temperature sensors with a sapphire protective tube.
The MTC6S series is designed for applications with operating temperatures up to 1600 °C in an inert environment, and up to 1350 °C when immersed in molten glass. It has a single protective tube made of crystalline sapphire, which offers excellent resistance to chemically aggressive environments and is also characterized by excellent hot strength. Sensors of this series cannot be subjected to thermal shocks.
The measuring element is a precious metal thermocouple, most commonly of type S, R or B. The thermocouple’s output signal is a voltage whose dependence on temperature is defined by the ČSN EN 60584-1 ed. 2 standard. Thermocouples are not included in the ordering code (ordered separately).
The fitting consists of a head, a holding pipe, a sapphire tube and a capillary. The head is fitted with a cable gland for connecting a compensation cable.
The sensor can be fitted with a temperature converter. A PR mounting flange can be used to secure the sensor at the point of measurement.
