TA Thermal Flow Meters

The basis of the thermal flow sensor is an electrically heated and mechanically protected sensing element located at the measuring end of the sensor. Based on the heat transfer between this sensing element and the measured gas, the standard (converted, normalized) flow velocity, standard (converted, normalized) volumetric flow rate, or mass flow rate of the measured medium is calculated.

Due to the physical nature of the measuring method, the measurement result is independent of the current temperature and pressure of the measured medium.

Thermal flow meters are primarily designed for measuring the consumption / quantity / mass flow rate of natural gas, compressed air, and other technical gases. In the vast majority of applications, only a negligible pressure drop occurs at the sensor.
