UA Ultrasonic Flow Meters

The measuring method is based on evaluating the time difference in the transit time of an acoustic signal through the measured medium (liquid).
An ultrasonic pulse is transmitted through the measured medium both in the direction and against the direction of its flow. The ultrasonic signal transmitters alternately also work as their receivers. The transit time of the acoustic signal through the measured medium in the direction of flow is shorter than the transit time through this medium against the direction of flow. The time difference Δt determined in this way is used to calculate the average flow velocity of liquids, and, with a known pipe profile/cross-section, also to calculate the volumetric flow rate.
